Buro Ruig, founded in 2016, is a modern design agency based in Utrecht. Peter Overgaauw en Ivar Kraaijevanger produce and design products through so-called ‘rapid prototyping’-techniques like 3D-printing and laser cutting. One of their latest projects features a super detailed, 3D-printed version of the infamous ‘Dom Toren’ and ‘Westerkerk’. Now available at Hutspot Rozengracht, Magna Plaza and Utrecht.
Fused Filament What..?
Fused Filament Fabrication – you heard that right – is the 3D-printing technique used in most projects by Buro Ruig. By adding tiny, molten layers of plastic on top of each other, an Ultimaker 3D-printer creates a continuous shape. The designers can create almost any form, resulting in endless possibilities. Because of this hands-on technique, custom products can be created easily and printed in small batches.
